GRAND FINAL ROUND (NOW OPEN!)
Welcome to the GRAND FINAL of our I am @ Youth.SG Blogging Festival.
For old-timers, welcome back! For the newbies, a big HELLO from the Youth.SG team! We hope everyone has fun for this grand final round and make more friends from the process, regardless whether you are participating as a reader, a voter or a blogger.
One big question hanging over heads is of course: Who will bring the gorgeous Apple MacBook home at the end of the Grand Final?
Here are the six winners of our iPod Shuffle from Round 1 to 6:
Next up, here are the six top bloggers from Round 1 to 6, determined by your votes:
Moving forward…
IT’S TIME TO CHUCK ALL THE PAST MEMORIES ASIDE AND START AFRESH!!!
Why?
Because for the GRAND FINAL, everyone is allowed to send in their entries! Yes – we decided to throw the submission open to everyone – whether or not you won any prizes from the previous rounds, one of the bi-weekly top bloggers, or a newbie taking part for the very first time! Everyone stands an equal chance!
In addition, we also added a judging component. Meet our five cool judges here:
Rosalyn Lee is a Radio DJ at Power98FM. She hosts the evening drive time show, Power Cruisin',weekdays 5pm-8pm. She used to blog in her free time on Friendster but now, fate has it that she's gotta blog for work. When judging, she will be lookiing out mainly for creativity and humour.
HER BLOG: http://blog.power98.com.sg/rosalyn
HIS BLOG: http://www.shearnation.com
Charles Ng is a dare devil in his own ways. As how others might see him, he's probably famed for taking on the road less traveled. Shifting away from his academic training as an engineer in polytechnic and university; he now spends his time helping people manage their skin at his natural skin clinic. Charles blogs just about anything and its one of his secret tools to destress!! "Blogging should be candid, casual and unpretentious."
HIS BLOG: http://charleswanmushi.livejournal.com
HER BLOG: http://raining-noodles.blogspot.com
Alvin Lim is a simple guy. In his youth, he harboured visions of becoming the ultimate media guru who is a photographer, a graphic designer, an illustrator, a writer and a filmmaker all rolled into one. In the end, he winds up as the webmaster at Youth.SG.
He’s the representative from the Youth.SG team in this judging panel and will be judging mainly based on adherence to theme.
HIS BLOG: http://www.youth.sg/blog (where else?)

As an added incentive, Youth.SG will give away a $10 Borders voucher to all the top 20 bloggers of the Grand Final Round> of I am @ Youth.SG.
The judges’ score constitutes 50 percent of the total score for each of the top 20 bloggers selected as finalists for the GRAND FINAL. The other 50 percent will be determined by popular vote as per the previous rounds.
Send in your entry now!
To make it a bit more challenging for you guys, the theme is a social issue of your choice. This can be broadly defined – it can mean school uniform trends, the emo kids generation, animal welfare, globalisation, etc. Take your pick. You can even write about more than one social issue. But make sure it’s creative!
Details:
All you need to do is write a blog entry, in your own blog, on the theme “social issue/s”. You decide what “social issue/s” means to you, and you are free to interpret it any way you wish. Title the blog entry “I Am @ Youth.SG”, link it to us at www.youth.sg, and send an email to iam@youth.sg to submit your entry.
• Each entry URL should be sent to iam@youth.sg with the email header “I am@Youth.SG - participant ’s name”.
• Participants should include their personal particulars (full name, NRIC/passport number, contact number) and the URL to their blog entry in their email.
• Participants can help to broadcast the contest by including the “I am @ Youth.SG” banner (see above) in their blog entry and linking the banner to Youth.SG.
Winning entries will be chosen based on originality, creativity, effort, aesthetic, humour and content.
Still unclear? No worries, here's a sample entry. (Note: we expect you to do better) You can also read some the best entries from previous Rounds of the contest here.
If you still have any other queries about our blog contest, do read our FAQ page or you can email us at iam@youth.sg.
How the winner will be picked:
The five judges will each score the top 20 blog entries we sieved out on a scale of 1 to 10 each as well as write a short entry on their judging criteria (which will be posted up before voting is open). The judging comprises 50% of total score. Other 50% will be accounted for by popular vote via www.vote.youth.sg.
