In the seventh installment of Youth Talents: Design, Youth.SG spoke to graphic designer, Jay Lim.
Currently working with Paprika, an advertising agency in Singapore with a list of reputable clients including Adidas, the Ministry of Manpower and Osim, Jay has established himself as a young and promising designer for the future.
In his free time, the 24-year-old designs and illustrates for his website, JayLimDesign. Founded in 2006, the brand has received much hype, with interviews from leading design magazines, IdN, Juice and iSh among others.
Jay is presently working on his brand label's T-Shirt line which will be launched later this month.

1) What sparked the interest to take up designing?
When I was a kid, I always like things that are not only beautiful but functionally beautiful.
2) In design, do you face any setbacks along the way?
Certainly, but I believe anybody who works their way up in life are occasionally in a mess.
3) Do you feel that youths should chase their passion and probably give up their studies for it?
There are two contradictory questions here. I just don't know how one can chase his or her passion without going through a couple of hard knocks.
