I've always been something of a museum geek, and it thrills me no end that National Museum will be opening soon. So it was with much pleasure that I went to two museums back to back last weekend... even if it was supposed to be work.
Saturday: Singapore Art Museum
When I told my museum geek buddy that I was going to SAM, he said "Have you seen the outside of the museum recently? Doooood."I hadn't really, so it was with much interest that I arrived at the museum... to discover that it was literally covered with graffiti.
While I did appreciate it, it was with mixed feelings that I snapped my photos - after all SAM does have a lot of heritage attached to it, and I'd hate for it to turn into another Chinatown, if you know what I mean.
It was there that I met Qinyi, the co-curator for the related exhibit Fiction@love, and thankfully she told me that the art would be covered in July.
Until then, be sure to get down there and check out the brightly coloured facade of the Singapore Art Museum! I was actually at SAM for the party later on, and I had some time to kill so I decided to go in to take a look at the exhibit.
