Let's learn the art of appreciating lame jokes.
As someone who often cracks lame jokes, getting disapproving glares and sighs have become a norm. However, these jokes are not always as unbearable as they are known to be.
Here are six reasons why lame jokes aren't a waste of time:
1. It's a training of wits
THAT SENSE OF ACHIEVEMENT WHEN YOU GET A JOKE IN A SHORT TIME IS TO DIE FOR.
The ability to appreciate and make puns should be celebrated, because it trains your mind to work fast. I won't call these jokes lame, I'd call them witty.
Of course cracking lame jokes all the time won't make you a genius, but you would find yourself spending more time thinking and constructing clever word plays.

2. It changes your perspectives

Instead of staying in the box, cracking witty jokes and puns make you think outside of the box and create jokes that will never cross normal people's minds. It makes you have a whole new view on things, focusing on those which can be made into jokes later.
As a result, you can laugh about almost everything and make a joke out of it.
Of course, I would not encourage you to make a joke of other people's misery… unless you do not want friends anymore.
3. You won't lose your friends
Contrary to popular belief, you will still have friends after cracking all those jokes. Although they may sigh and shoot disapproving glares at you, they secretly appreciate your jokes.
You just have to get used to getting ignored and having them roll their eyes.
REALLY, WE ARE BEST FRIENDS.
However, I would not recommend you to go crazy with all the jokes, because they might really not take you seriously one day. Then the joke's on you.
4. They are funny
Admit it, these lame jokes are funny. Most of the time, we only call them "lame" because we fail to appreciate them. Underneath the disapproval, we secretly applaud these people for having the ability to create puns and jokes for almost anything.
SADLY, MOST PEOPLE DO.
5. Hence, they make your day
Appreciating lame jokes makes you a less serious and rigid person. As we live in a fast-paced and stressful environment, we need to learn to take things slow and laugh at the little things in life.
6. Okay but honestly, it is a waste of time

Catching someone off guard with your lame jokes may be a waste of their time, but it definitely is not a waste of yours. You get to appreciate the betrayed looks on their faces when they realise that you just fooled them for the past 10 seconds of their lives that they trusted you with.
While there is no great benefit for wasting someone else's time, it gives you a sense of satisfaction that you are able to trick someone over and over, fooling them into thinking that you are about to say something serious.
Let's try to understand and applaud our friends' efforts when they crack lame jokes. It makes everyone happier!
