Beat the studying blues with these IG-worthy bistros.

Doing your school work can get dull when you've been cramped up all day within the same four walls of your house.

If you're in dire need of a change in scenery, we've got you covered.

Here are five aesthetic cafés in Singapore you can head to the next time you need to hit the books:

1. Toby's Estate

Sandwiched between other eateries, this gem might be overlooked by many. The easiest way to spot the café is by their 'Coffee Roasters' outdoor parasols.

Should you ever find yourself needing a breather while studying, the Singapore River is about 10 steps away.

The kitchen closes at 5pm, so make sure to head down early to order their all-day breakfast or signature coffee to fuel up as you work.

The chalk-drawn menu and friendly staff give off a homely feel, and we liked the black-grey colour scheme of the cafe.

Best time to go there: Anytime during weekdays. They don't encourage studying on weekends.

3. The Glasshouse

Formerly a convent school, CHIJMES is now home to many trendy restaurants and cafés, including The Glasshouse. We adore the big glass panels that provide good lighting for our photos.

True to its name, The Glasshouse allows plenty of natural light to flood in, perfect for the potted plants that line the store.

With an interesting selection of toasts and decently priced coffee, it's not hard to see how one can spend the whole day there.

You are welcome to spend as long as you want – provided you manage to snag yourself a seat.

Heads up, the entrance to The Glasshouse, which is actually a glass panel sliding door, is cleverly blended in with the rest of the exterior glass panels of the store.
