Here's how you can maximise your long weekends next year.

Singaporeans, rejoice!

Earlier today (Jun 24), the Ministry of Manpower released the list of public holidays in Singapore for 2021.

There will be four long weekends happening in 2021 (yay!) as some public holidays will fall on a Monday or Friday.

The public holidays which will fall on a Friday are:

- New Years' Day (Jan 1)
- Chinese New Year (Feb 12)
- Good Friday (Apr 2)

National Day (Aug 9) will take place on a Monday.

Although we will only have four long weekends in 2021, as opposed to seven in 2020, you can still pencil in some rest and relaxation during these long weekends.

Besides the public holidays above, you can carve out more time for yourself by extending your long weekends or creating one, if you take leave on these strategic dates (see below).

Other public holidays happening in 2021 include:

- Labour Day (May 1)
- Hari Raya Puasa (May 13)
- Vesak Day (May 26)
- Hari Raya Haji (Jul 20)
- Deepavali (Nov 4)
- Christmas Day (Dec 25)

Do note that the dates for Hari Raya Puasa and Hari Raya Haji holidays may change.

In the meantime, you can look forward to the upcoming long weekends happening this year: Hari Raya Haji (Jul 31), National Day (Aug 9) and Christmas Day (Dec 25).
