Popcorn time! Cinemas are reopening from Jul 13

You can catch the highly anticipated zombie thriller Train to Busan: Peninsula soon!

It’s time to grab your popcorn or nachos - cinemas are reopening from Jul 13

Announced by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) on Friday (Jul 3), the decision to reopen was made after consultations between authorities and cinema operators.

The cinemas have been closed since Mar 27, due to the COVID-19 situation.

Safety precautions will be put in place when cinemas reopen.

There will be a one-metre safe distancing seating configuration. Friends and family members up to a group of five can sit together, but different groups of moviegoers will have to adhere to it.

Each cinema can take up to 50 patrons too.

You will need to wear your masks at all times, even during the movie. The only exemption is when you are consuming your food or drink.

Cinema operator Golden Village has made 27 movies available for its reopening. These include new releases such as the highly anticipated Korean zombie thriller Train to Busan: Peninsula and Low Season, as well as previous releases such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Vin Diesel's Bloodshot and Dwayne Johnson's Skyscraper

You can also look forward to movies such as Mulan (2020), Tenet and Wonder Woman 1984 to be released later this year.

Are you excited yet? We know we are!
