Baybeats returns with a special online edition featuring performances by Charlie Lim, Annette Lee, Mannequins and more!

Good news for music festival junkies! Esplanade will be organising a special online version of its annual alternative music festival, Baybeats.

Called Baybeats Online, it will take over Baybeats' original dates of Aug 21 to 23. The physical festival was previously postponed to Nov 6 to 8 due to COVID-19.

Look out for intimate and stripped-down performances by a diverse range of artists from the local music scene, including alumni from Baybeats Budding Bands such as Tell Lie Vision, Mannequins, ANECHOIS, Every Rage I Seek and more.

These performances will be spread across three zones: Homeground, Observation Deck and Chapalang Sessions.

Highlights include hip-hop and R&B singer YAØ's performance at 9pm at Chapalang Sessions on Aug 21. On the same day, actress-singer Annette Lee will also be performing her latest single 'Spring Will Always Come' for Baybeats Unplugged at 8pm.

Pop singer Charlie Lim will be taking over the last Baybeats Unplugged session at 10:15pm on Aug 22 to play acoustic renditions of three of his songs, including chart-topper 'Least Of You'.

Besides performances, there will also be panel discussions and informal chats with artists from Singapore's music scene.

Baybeats Online will be streamed live on Facebook and Esplanade's website from 8pm onwards. Head here for more information on the festival and the events schedule.
