You don't have to be an avid runner to have fun at The Color Run 2016.
Returning to our sunny island for its fourth year, The Color Run is a 5km run where participants are doused in colorful, non-toxic powders. This year's Tropicolor theme attracted over 12,000 participants.
Maybe completing a 5km run has been on your bucket list, but the thought of running in the hot sun is such a turn off. If you have to choose one run to complete in your entire life, let it be The Color Run.
Here are five reasons why:
1. You don't have to actually run
You must be thinking, "But isn't it called The Color RUN?"
Yes that's right, but it's also a fun run which means there's no pressure and you can choose to complete the full 5km either by jogging/running/walking.
Good news for us who don't actually train before a run.
BE DOUSED IN COLOURS AS YOU TAKE YOUR LEISURELY STROLL.
There were a few others like me who took a leisurely stroll while admiring the view at Sentosa. It was perhaps the best decision I've ever made.
2. Colorful tutus galore
Forget your compression tights and serious athletic gear, and bring along your flashiest sunglasses and accessories. Remember, you just want to have fun!
Before the run even started, I spotted plenty of participants in colorful high-knee socks and even a few in glittery tutus.
OH, THIS INCLUDES THE BOYS TOO.
BRINGING US BACK TO THE GEEKY HIGH SCHOOL DAYS.
3. Run through a rainbow after every kilometre
You've "tasted the rainbow", but have you ever thought of running through it?
After every kilometer, you will be greeted with colorful powder as you pass through different coloured arches and palm trees, accompanied by groovy music.
BE PREPARED TO BE DOUSED IN COLOURFUL POWDER.
Definitely a great way to celebrate the completion of every kilometre.
But again, feel free to take your time.
4. Have your own Joseph Schooling moment
You get a medal, he gets a medal, she gets a medal. Everyone gets a medal!
You will get to experience the moment of euphoria of receiving a shiny medal just like Joseph Schooling at the Olympics. Yes...regardless if you have jogged or walked the full 5km, volunteers personally hand you these medals at the finish line.
A SHINY MEDAL AWAITS YOU AT THE END, NO MATTER HOW LONG YOU TOOK.
This year's finisher medal on a floral-printed ribbon also makes for a cute memento of your first 5km run.
5. Party the night away at the Finish Festival
Fret not, the fun doesn't stops at the finishing line. At the after party, the crowd went wild and danced their hearts out as the DJs played the latest hits.

Massive colours were strewn at the crowd making for a colorful photo opportunity.
Rest assured, you will be guaranteed to have burned a couple of calories from partying.
